Locals
can register for affordable housing
Do
you dream of owning your own home but wake up to the nightmare of
ever increasing property prices?
DO you live and work locally but don't want to rent privately or
from the council?
Are you an older homeowner looking for sheltered housing?
If
the answer is YES to any of these questions you may qualify to be
included on Alnwick District Council's Homeseekers Register.
Residents
who wish to purchase or rent local affordable housing need to
apply to the council to have their names put on an affordable
housing register.
The purpose of the register is to help ensure that
affordable housing being built for sale or for rent around the
district is allocated to local people who need it most. To be
included on it, applicants must be 18 years of age and over, and
demonstrate both a genuine housing need and close connections to
the local area.
For further information contact :- Alnwick
District Council on tel: 01665 510505,

This
scheme is separate from, and not to be confused with the waiting
list for council or housing association properties.
